Annual General Meeting 2023

As we celebrate 40 years of the Marine Conservation Society, members were invited to join us as we reflected on our remarkable journey, highlighting our achievements and the significant strides we’re making in marine conservation.

The details

During our 32nd Annual General Meeting, we explored our vision for the future, including our ambitious 2030 targets and our commitment to empowering the next generation of conservationists.

One inspiring aspect of our future is the Youth Ocean Network, a dynamic initiative that nurtures young environmental leaders. We had a special highlight on their incredible contributions, showcasing how they embody the spirit of the next generation of ocean stewards.

We were honoured that renowned wildlife filmmaker, Ocean Ambassador and long-time supporter, Doug Allan, shared his insights into the past, present, and future of marine conservation and how he engages with our Youth Ocean Network.

Doug Allen smiles at the camera and points his own huge camera lens at the photographer. He is at an emperor penguin colony and a hundred plus penguins can be seen behind him. Naturally it's cold, with ice and a bright blue sky!
