Speak for our ocean
Every conversation about the ocean has the power to spark change. By volunteering as an voice for the ocean, you will help bridge the gap between the challenges our sea faces and the people who can help protect it. Whether you’re speaking on your local radio station, hosting at a local event or sharing what we do in your local community, your voice helps turn awareness into action.
Our 'Ocean Voice' volunteer opportunities are available to anyone aged 18 or over who cares about the ocean and wants to make a difference. You don’t need prior experience, public‑speaking skills, or a coastal postcode. If you’re passionate about protecting our seas, you’re welcome.
If you have any feedback about your experience, you can contact us.

What does Ocean Voice volunteering require?
Your role is flexible, creative, and shaped by your interests. Ocean Voices help by:
- Representing the Marine Conservation Society at local fairs, festivals, and community gatherings.
- Sharing campaign messages that inspire people to reduce plastic, choose sustainable seafood, and support ocean‑friendly policies.
- Starting conversations in schools, clubs, workplaces, or online spaces where your community already gathers.
- Championing ocean-positive habits, from beach cleans to responsible consumer choices.
- Connecting people to action, helping them discover how they can get involved, donate, or volunteer.
You don’t need scientific expertise — just enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to speak up for the sea.
