Community talks

Please complete the enquiry form at the bottom of this page. We will then try to match your request to an available team member and update you as soon as possible. We ask for at least 4 weeks notice of your preferred date to support us in meeting your request.

We offer three talks with the following themes:

• An introduction to the Marine Conservation Society
• Ocean pollution
• Climate change and the ocean

Talks last approximately 30-45mins, but can be adapted in length to meet your group's needs. They can be provided online or in person.

Your group will be required to organise the venue for the talk. There are accompanying slide show presentations and we ask that your group/venue provide the equipment e.g. laptop, projector and screen, although it may be possible to offer the talk without the presentation if these are not available.

At the Marine Conservation Society, we recognise the importance of helping as many people as possible to learn about our ocean, so there is no charge for a talk to community groups and non-profit organisations.

But, providing a talk does cost the charity in administration time and in travel. A donation to the Marine Conservation Society is greatly appreciated and can be provided here.

Talks can be provided during the daytime or evening, weekdays and at weekends, but will be dependent on the availability of a Sea Champion in your area.

The talks are aimed at local community groups and non-profit organisations who would like to know more about the work of the Marine Conservation Society.

Some of our speakers may not be expert marine biologists, but they will be passionate and enthusiastic about our work.
