Sustainable seafood (5-7)

Learn how ocean-friendly fishing helps protect our seas and wildlife, economies and livelihoods, and helps provide safe food as part of a healthy diet.

    1. Introduction to seafood

Did you know that 97% of UK households eat fish? By choosing sustainable seafood, we can reduce pressure on wild fish populations and support local fishers and producers.

This lesson will introduce the types of seafood we commonly see in the UK and the terms ‘sustainable’ and ‘overfishing.’ Pupils will also learn about the characteristics of fish and get active with our 'let's go fishing' game!
