Overview

Dab sustainability varies. It is often discarded due to low market demand. The Best Choice is dab caught in the North Sea using seine net or otter trawl. Dab is most likely to be found at fishmongers and in some local seafood restaurants. In supermarkets, consumers are more likely to encounter other flatfish species such as plaice, with plaice from the North Sea rated a Best Choice.
