Overview

Nursehound is OK – needs improvement. Multiple species of small shark are often sold under generic names like ‘rock salmon’, ‘rock’, or ‘huss’, so it’s important to know which species you’re buying. If you don’t know the species you’re buying, it’s best to avoid eating it. Nursehound is sometimes sold in UK supermarkets, but is more commonly available from fishmongers, fish and chip shops, and seafood restaurants under these generic names.
