Rating summary

Striped red mullet in this region are not subject to overfishing and are not being overfished. Few appropriate management measures are in place. The main concern in this fishery is that catches have been consistently higher than scientific recommendations. Most striped red mullet are caught by demersal seine. Danish seines have a smaller footprint than otter trawls and therefore have less impact on the seafloor. Bycatch of vulnerable species has not been reported for this fishery.Rating last updated January 2026.
