Overview

Some Argentine shortfin squid is a Fish to Avoid as it may have been caught illegally. If you choose to buy this species, make sure it is from Argentina or the Falkland Islands, where it is OK but needs Improvement. It’s often sold as ‘calamari’, and is used to make sashimi, surume or sakiika. Where possible, we would recommend finding alternatives to squid, octopus, and cuttlefish.
