Scampi or langoustine
Nephrops norvegicus
Also known as: Dublin Bay prawn, Norway lobster
Overview
Scampi, or langoustine, sustainability varies greatly. For the Best Choices, check the fishing method and look for pot- or creel-caught. Trawled options are usually OK, but some are Fish to Avoid. Scampi is widely available in UK supermarkets, and fish and chip shops, as a fresh or frozen breaded product. When sold whole, it is known as langoustine, which is more commonly found in seafood restaurants and fishmongers.
