Black bream is OK - needs improvement. We recommend choosing black bream from Sussex or Southern IFCA districts as more management measures are in place in these areas. Black bream is rarely found in UK supermarkets but may be offered in local seafood restaurants or fishmongers. Consumers are more likely to encounter gilthead (or sea) bream, a different species with variable sustainability.
